ABOUT RUFFPATH

RuffPath was founded in 2021! Coach Ruffin was challenged by a couple of his friends to start RuffPath because of what he was already doing within his community through speaking, mentoring, basketball training, and life coaching! They challenged him to take a step of faith, and the Lord has just grown and blessed immensely! Coach Ruffin has been able to speak to churches and youth groups, businesses, high school and college sports teams, adults, and youth of diverse backgrounds.

RuffPath is founded upon loving and serving others. Coach has done this by hosting Thanksgiving food drives for those that are in need. He has added value in his local and surrounding communities by hosting public speaking seminars, speaking about mental health and trauma, speaking at men’s conferences, speaking for Christian school chapel services, challenging youth through speaking about the importance of healthy relationships, the importance of leadership, and the importance of being selfless!

COACH RUFFIN’S JOURNEY

Coach Ruffin was adopted at 3 months old, and he has been loved by so many people throughout his life! He attended Pensacola Christian Academy from K4-12 grade. While attending PCA, he was able to learn how to play the piano. He used this talent and gift by playing for his church as their pianist. This church was pastored by his dad for 20 years. Coach Ruffin also played basketball at PCA. He not only found his love for the game, but he also saw that love grow! At his high school graduation, Coach Ruffin received the leadership award, which is the highest award given outside of academics. He graduated from Pensacola Christian Academy, and then enrolled at Pensacola Christian College.

 

While at Pensacola Christian College, Coach Ruffin majored in Sports Management and minored in Business Management. Coach Ruffin was able to play four years of college basketball, and at his college graduation, received the Presidents Citation of Merit. This is the highest non-academic award given. After graduating, Coach Ruffin stayed and worked towards getting his master’s degree in Educational Leadership. While earning his masters, Coach Ruffin was able to work as an assistant coach in college.

The Lord later opened the door for Coach Ruffin to coach at his high school alma matter for a few months. After leaving as the head coach at Pensacola Christian Academy, Coach Ruffin worked at Dixon School of the Arts in Pensacola. While there, he started as the school bus driver and English teacher but later became the Vice Principal for Middle School and the transportation director.

During his third year at Dixon, the Lord allowed Coach Ruffin to become the head coach at Escambia High School. There, he was able to see many young men graduate, see their lives find purpose, and establish a culture that was ready to learn how to win.

After three year at Escambia High School, the Lord moved Coach Ruffin to Milton High School in Milton, FL. Milton is only about 15-20 located outside of Pensacola. While at Milton, Coach Ruffin was able to teach and coach. In his first year, he taught English and coached the jv basketball team. In his second year, he was moved to a business class while still coaching the jv team. In his third year, Coach Ruffin taught business again while now coaching the freshman team.

In 2021, Coach Ruffin took his vision and started RuffPath! He started by giving basketball lessons after school, while also getting involved in his local community. He joined the Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce to start networking and meeting those leaders in the area. He stared by hosting a Public Speaking Seminar and also a seminar on how to start your own LLC. He was able to start making partnerships with The United Way, the chamber, local businesses, and other small business owners that wanted to see him succeed!

Coach Ruffin is excited about his opportunity to continue to serve others as he travels as a motivational speaker, as he helps others as their life coach, and as he influences young people as he trains them through sports and consults them as they apply for college!

I am a dedicated, reliable, hard-working, knowledgeable, and detailed speaker that speaks on mental health, leadership, conflict resolution, and building lasting, healthy relationships. I use my athletic and coaching experiences from both high school and college to teach about discipline, hard work, structure, conflict resolution, and character.

This seminar was very resourceful and allowed me to dive deeper into why I want to speak, where I want to speak, what I want to convey and Who I want to speak to. Jeremy you were able to bring in speakers from a variety of background, age and life experiences. A powerful group of people with intention in their hearts to motivate others. My one up would be to take this first event and break it down into sub categories this was an umbrella of insight.
